The great digital migration

The ongoing Covid-19 crisis prompted a paradigm shift for large tech companies worldwide, transforming how they operate and connect with their customers and their customers' customers. Beginning in March 2020, global conferences were being canceled, forcing companies to adapt to a digital world to reach their audience and convey their message. Companies like IBM and Adobe sought scalable digital platforms to create evergreen experiences beyond the events. AVEVA followed suit, enlisting our team to develop a comprehensive experience that spanned pre-event, during the event, and post-event.

The experience needed to include an attendee dashboard and portal, sign-up and registration with personalized recommendations, daily promotions for keynotes and speakers, an agenda builder, session catalog, interactive expo, live demos, and more.

Starting in October 2020, we worked on an aggressive timeline to launch the new AVEVA World Digital Conference Platform in time for the January 26, 2021 event.

We collaborated with the AVEVA Creative Director and Design Lead to conduct a workshop focused on developing use case scenarios for the entire experience, covering pre-event, during-event, and post-event phases. The workshop's outcome allowed us to create detailed user flows that guided the development of the experience and informed the creation of additional assets needed to drive awareness, registration, and attendance for the event.

Using Adobe XD we prototyped out the user flows for pre/during/post event.

In the pre-event experience:

  • Users would drive-to the landing page where they can register for the event

  • Registration contained user interests section to provide customized recommendations

  • Learn about the event and the speakers that will be there

  • Explore the session catalog

  • Curate and build their agenda

  • Favorite session/keynotes/demos

  • Download a high-level agenda of the entire event

  • Review their attendee dashboard after registering

During the event experience:

  • Users can view live session or keynotes

  • Explore interactive demos

  • Explore the expo

  • Continue to build their agenda for the additional days

After the event experience:

  • Users can watch session/keynotes/demos on demand

  • Register for the next event

  • Review event highlights

Design Language

As AVEVA evolved its brand and visual design, we partnered closely with the Creative Director and Design Lead to craft a vibrant and dynamic interface for the digital experience. Our goal was to create an immersive environment that made users feel as though they were part of a live, engaging event. We aimed to ensure the experience felt not only current and fresh but also warmly inviting. By integrating cutting-edge design elements and interactive features, we sought to capture the excitement and immediacy of a live event, delivering a digital experience that was both visually striking and highly engaging.

Drive to event registration

AVEVA made the strategic decision to launch its inaugural virtual experience, aiming to provide agile insights tailored to a rapidly evolving world. This landmark event, known as Aveva World Digital, required more than just a typical digital setup. It demanded a unique and visually striking design coupled with a robust, messaging-driven campaign. The goal was to captivate and engage a diverse audience of attendees from across the globe, ensuring that the virtual experience not only conveyed the latest industry insights but also resonated with participants worldwide. This comprehensive approach was essential to make a meaningful impact and drive global engagement for the event.
